      Write 10 keywords related to that video. Next to each word, write the part of speech (adjective, verb, noun, adverb, preposition, etc) and write a sentence for each word or a paragraph including all words. Post this part as a comment.  
      Watch the video again. Then do all the activities from “Think.” Once you have completed each activity, take a screen shot and send this part by email. In all, you should have 8 screenshots.

  1. 1)Randomized Clinical Trial or RCT. Part of the speech: The key to RCT is at the subjects are randomly assigned to their study groups. Example: A study in which people are allocated at random (by chance alone) to receive one of several clinical interventions is called a Randomized Clinical Trial.
    2)FDA: Food and drug administration. Part of the speech: The US food and drug administration often requires at least two (RCT) to be conducted before a new drug can be marketed. Example: The Food and Drug Administration (FDA or USFDA) is a federal agency of the United States Department of Health and Human Services.
    3)Epidemiological study. Part of the speech: The problem is that an RCT is not possible in many cases, either because is not practical or would require too many volunteers, in such cases, scientist use an epidemiological Study. Example: A study that compares 2 groups of people who are alike except for one factor, such as exposure to a chemical or the presence of a health effect is called an epidemiological study.
    4)Cohort. Part of the speech: We will find those who already take the ingredient in their everyday lives, this group is called the cohort. Example: a cohort is a group of subjects who have shared a particular event together during a particular time.
    5)Comparison group. Part of the speech: We will also need a comparison group, people who do not have exposure to the ingredient. Example: A comparison group is necessary to prove that the ingredient change something if you take it.
    6)Causal Relationships. Part of the speech: So why can’t we rely on these studies to establish causal relationships between substances and their effects on health. Example: A scientific study does not find real causal relationships, only relationships.
    7)Inherent flaws. Part of the speech: The problem is that even the best conducted epidemiological studies have inherent flaws. Example: All scientific studies have inherent flaws, that is what makes them less trustable.
    8)Confounding variables. Part of the speech: This factors that can affect results in addition to the factor been study are known as confounding variables. Example: Not all the subjects that are been studied have the same life so the confounding variables are inevitable in a scientific study.
    9)Correlation. Part of the speech: Means that a single study can only demonstrate correlation between a substance and a health outcome. Example: A scientific study is not trustable because it only find correlation and not cause & effect.
    10)Scientific study. Part of the speech: We are bombarded by attention grabbing news backed up by Scientific Studies. Example: There is a new scientific study that said that yoga can improve health.

  6. • Study: verb, to look something carefully to learn about it. Sometimes we heard that some studies in aliments says that are bad to our health, even when old people says that have all their life eat it.
    • Health: noun, the condition of the body or mind and the degree to which it is free from illness, or the state of being well. The health care is something important if you want to have a pretty long life.
    • Treatment: noun, the use of drugs, exercises, etc. to improve the condition of an ill or injured person, or to cure a disease. If someone get ill need a treatment based on antibiotics if want to restored their health
    • Volunteers: a person who does something special for an organization willingly and without being forced or paid to do it. There are people that are volunteers in some studies to develop new drugs for the health care.
    • Randomized: adjective, relating to experimental research where subjects are selected for particular treatments by chance. A randomized clinical trial consist in make studies in a group chosen without take care in some variables.
    • Epidemiological: adjective, relating to epidemiology (the scientific study of diseases and how they are found, spread and controlled in groups of people). In the universities Scientifics develop epidemiological studies to discover the origin of some illness.
    • Effects: noun, the result of a particular influence, something that happens because of something else. One of the effects of smoke is lung cancer.
    • Inherent: adjective, existing as a natural and permanent quality of something or someone. The drug has certain inherent side effects.
    • Flaws: noun, a fault or weakness, one that happens while something is being planned or make and that makes it not perfect. There was a car accident in high way by the flaws of a old car without maintenance.
    • Substances: noun, a material with particular physical characteristics. The water or H2O is a very important substance in our planet.

    Relationship(noun): My relationship with my parents have been good lately.
    Medication(noun): I'm getting better, I think I don't need this medication anymore.
    Vitamins(noun): My sister confused the vitamins pills with candys.
